Buda Seafood - Perishables Rep - Part-Time at H-E-B

Responsibilities
Provide a well-stocked and well-maintained department while delivering superior customer service.
Prepare, package, and merchandise fresh product on a daily basis.
Maintain all department and food safety/sanitation standards.
Assist in technical areas as needed.
Customer Service
Provide superior customer service.
Take orders from customers by telephone or in person.
Answer customer questions regarding products and assist with selections.
Food Service
Slice, package, label, and rotate products.
Scan items on Telxon for production.
Sales
Merchandise product effectively.
Use suggestive selling techniques to meet customer needs and build department sales.
Make regular announcements related to freshly produced items to increase sales.
Food Safety / Sanitation
Clean and sanitize display cases; properly operate and maintain equipment.
Comply with H-E-B food safety and sanitation standards and departmental SOPs.
Additional Department-Specific Responsibilities
Aguas: Peels, cuts, chops fresh fruits and vegetables; prepares fresh specialty drinks and food products specific to the Aguas department.
Floral: Designs floral arrangements; provides a variety of fresh quality products; designs and executes merchandising programs; tracks seasonal records when appropriate.
Market: Cuts, trims, and prepares meat for service counters; ensures proper product rotation and storage; maintains coolers and freezers; weighs, prices, and packages selections; operates power meat prep and processing equipment.
Produce: Stocks and rotates product to ensure freshness; assists floral department when needed; communicates product knowledge to customers by explaining and providing samples; cuts, wraps, and prices produce; maintains signing program.
Seafood: Knowledgeable about various fish and shellfish; weighs, prices, and packages selections; maintains coolers and freezers.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Customer service and communication skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Computer systems knowledge (Telxon, ACR, label machine).
Strong customer service, communication, interpersonal, reading, and writing skills.
Planning and organizing skills.
Background Requirements
Minimum age 18.
Completion of Company Orientation and Safety Training.

Frequently—exposed to wet, cold conditions.
