Summary
The Assistant Dean for Assessment and Quality Assurance serves as an expert resource, strategic advisor, and project leader for assessment, authorization/reauthorization, and accreditation processes and initiatives in the College of Education (COE). This position collaborates on COE data and assessment requirements for the College, the university system, and other stakeholders such as the Colorado Department of Education. The Assistant Dean participates in strategic planning, goal setting, and development of policies and procedures, and supports the Dean and Associate Dean as requested. Other duties as assigned. This is a 12-month, ongoing staff position that is also open to faculty members.
Essential Functions The duties and responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to: Manage policies, procedures, rules, and regulations related to the College of Education and other entities (e.g., CDE, CDHE, CACREP, NDAC, CSHSE, FERPA, UCCS). Interpret policies and communicate/apply them with fidelity. Manage COE assessment data for institutional, university, state reauthorization, and accreditation requirements. Design, develop, and maintain COE accountability systems and reports for assessment, authorization/reauthorization, accreditation, and other needs. Develop data collection and management strategies to meet COE needs. Plan, direct, and aggregate data from Chairs and Faculty Directors; report to stakeholders as needed. Monitor and prepare responses for college assessment, authorization/reauthorization, and accreditation reporting requirements. Support the Associate Dean with college assessment, authorization/reauthorization, accreditation, personnel management, professional development, and other academic matters as required. Coordinate report development, maintenance, and automation with university system and other offices to ensure proper business logic and security procedures. Serve as a member of COE Executive Committee and attend meetings. Represent the College in the absence of the Dean and Associate Dean; liaise with external stakeholders as appropriate. Monitor and ensure accessibility of data and reporting metrics; support scholarship and compliance related to funding and eligibility. May supervise Administrative Compliance and Data Specialist or other project managers as needed. Oversee data collection and management for the COE; design systems for records and analysis related to COE programs. Coordinate with learning management systems and other platforms for data collection (e.g., Tevera/ELC, Canvas, GoReact). Manage COE lists including alumni, donors, and key stakeholders.

Qualifications
Master's degree from an accredited institution of higher education. Administrative or leadership experience in an academic environment. The ideal candidate has a doctorate. Experience administering assessment, accreditation, or compliance processes is highly desirable. Experience with state reauthorization of educator preparation programs and/or CACREP accreditation standards is desirable. Experience with database software (MS SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, MS Access) is desirable.
