Department Purpose and Structure The U.S. Marketing & Business Development team is a sophisticated group of experienced professionals charged with guiding the Firm’s fee earners to grow U.S. and global revenues, expand existing client relationships, and strategically tackle new client pursuits. The team thrives on market challenges and outside‑the‑box thinking, encouraging fresh ideas.
Role Purpose This Business Development Coordinator – Finance role is a fantastic opportunity to gain global experience with one of the world’s largest law firms and to learn the unique approach to business development and marketing. The Coordinator will provide day‑to‑day business development support for the Finance practices, working with teams worldwide on client targeting, proposal writing, collateral creation, and legal directory submissions.

Director of Business Development – Finance (based in New York)
Business Development Manager – Financial Services Regulatory, FinTech & Family Office (based in Washington, D.C.)
Partners and fee earners in the Finance practices
U.S. business development team
Peers across the global business development, marketing and communications teams
Context The candidate will be one of the main points of contact and oversee all day‑to‑day business development support for our Finance business development team and initiatives.
Role and Responsibilities
Pitches, Proposals and Credentials: Work with attorneys to create and manage competitive proposals, credentials, pitches and presentations.
Marketing Systems: Maintain practice and attorney information in marketing systems, including lawyer CVs, deal lists, pitch tracking activities, and client contact database.
Market Research: Conduct research on existing and prospective clients and market issues that may impact clients’ businesses.
Internal Communications: Coordinate meetings with practice groups to review progress on marketing projects and client targeting, ensuring relevant information is circulated internally.
Awards and Rankings: Assist with the preparation of legal directory submissions and other rankings and surveys.
Client Events: Collaborate with the U.S. events team to plan and facilitate client events and seminars.
Sponsorships: Coordinate firm sponsorships of conferences.
Cross‑Practice & Global Integration: Leverage the firm’s international partner and business development network to coordinate existing projects, develop new opportunities, share ideas, and enhance quality and efficiency.
Ad hoc requests in furtherance of the practice’s strategic goals and aims.
Team This position reports directly to the Business Development Manager – Financial Services Regulatory, FinTech & Family Office and works closely with other members of the U.S. business development team.
Key Requirements
Minimum of 2 years of legal or professional services experience in a high‑profile, fast‑paced environment.
High attention to detail and strong client focus.
Culturally astute team player with the ability to work effectively with colleagues from other countries on cross‑border activities.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal, and influencing skills.
A self‑starter with the ability to prioritize and drive forward multiple projects.
Willingness and enthusiasm to develop an in‑depth understanding of financial markets.
Bachelor’s degree required.
