Corporate Paralegal . This organization plays a vital role in advocacy and education within the maritime and defense community and is seeking a professional who can contribute to their mission through precise legal and administrative support.
Job Description The Corporate Paralegal will provide comprehensive legal and administrative assistance to the Chief Operating Officer and General Counsel. This role involves managing contracts, maintaining compliance records, conducting research, and supporting corporate governance activities. The ideal candidate will be proactive, highly organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities within a fast‑paced, mission‑driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
Draft, review, and edit contracts, agreements, and related legal documents.
Maintain and organize corporate records, filings, and registrations.
Support the contract lifecycle process—from drafting to execution and renewal.
Conduct legal research and compile findings for attorney review.
Prepare board resolutions, meeting minutes, and other governance materials.
Coordinate with external counsel to ensure regulatory and compliance standards are met.
Manage scheduling, correspondence, and expense tracking for the COO.
Maintain confidentiality while handling sensitive legal and organizational information.
Support general administrative functions within the legal department.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required; Paralegal Certificate strongly preferred.
2–3+ years of experience as a Corporate Paralegal or Legal Administrative Assistant.
Prior experience within a law firm, nonprofit, association, or in‑house counsel environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and contract management systems; experience with Westlaw preferred.
Excellent research, communication, and writing skills.
Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management abilities.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Professional demeanor, discretion, and long‑term career mindset.
Reports to: Chief Operating Officer / General Counsel
Interview Process: Addison Group screening, virtual interview with COO, followed by in‑person interviews with leadership team.
Start Date: As soon as possible; client will wait for the right candidate.
Candidates must have held their most recent role for at least 18 months to be considered.
