Job Summary

A Supervisor, Shipping Team in an automotive parts manufacturing company oversees and coordinates shipping operations within a specific group or department. The primary role is to manage the efficient and timely shipment of finished automotive parts to customers or other facilities, ensuring on-time delivery and customer satisfaction in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Job Responsibilities

Team Leadership: Provide leadership to the shipping team, supervise performance, and foster a positive, productive work environment. Scheduling and Planning: Develop and implement shipping schedules and coordinate with other departments to ensure availability of finished products for shipment. Order Processing: Oversee processing of customer orders and internal shipping requests, ensuring accuracy and addressing discrepancies. Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with production to prevent shortages or excess stock; implement controls to manage stock effectively. Shipping Procedures: Develop and enforce SOPs for packing, labeling, and loading; ensure compliance with safety and quality standards. Documentation: Supervise preparation of shipping documents (bills of lading, packing lists, customs paperwork) and verify accuracy. Quality Control: Implement QC processes to inspect products before shipment and resolve defects in collaboration with Quality. Communication: Coordinate with internal stakeholders (production, logistics, customer service) and respond to inquiries on shipment status. Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Monitor KPIs related to shipping efficiency, accuracy, and on-time delivery; generate and present reports to management. Safety and Compliance: Ensure adherence to safety protocols and regulatory requirements; stay updated on shipping regulations. Management: Lead, set objectives, and drive continuous improvement within the team. Team Development: Recruit, develop, mentor, and coach a high-performing team; promote best practices and professional growth. Talent Development: Implement training, performance management, coaching, and succession planning. Job Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education (associate or bachelor’s) in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or related field preferred. Skills & Experience

Technical Experience: 1-3 years in a relevant technical field. Previous Supervisory Experience: Prior leadership experience in shipping, logistics, or related fields preferred. Industry Experience: Minimum 3 years automotive/manufacturing experience. Shipping Experience: Familiarity with automotive parts manufacturing shipping requirements. Training and Certifications: Relevant training or certifications in logistics or supply chain management can be helpful.

Enforce Contractor Management Policies and site procedures; ensure safe and clean facilities. Use designated entry/exit points; do not leave entrances open to unauthorized individuals.
