The Compliance Specialist is responsible for reviewing affordable housing applications and ensuring they are eligible and compliant with applicable and current regulatory requirements, specializing in LIHTC.

This role offers a hybrid work arrangement, combining remote work with travel to property locations as needed.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Review affordable housing resident files for eligibility and compliance with all required laws.

Complete file reviews within 24 hours of receipt.

Adhere to all policies and procedures outlined in the personnel manual.

Monitor changes in LIHTC regulations and implement modifications as indicated.

Attend TDHCA training annually and complete HCCP training within the first two years of employment, achieving a passing score.

Participate in all tax credit reviews by external entities.

Travel approximately 50% of the work time annually for property visits, conferences, training sessions, and other business‑related activities.

Education & Experience

Strong organizational skills and a detail‑oriented approach.

Strong computer literacy, including proficiency with RealPage OneSite Tax Credit software.

Housing Credit Certified Professional (HCCP) certification is a plus; if not certified, HCCP training must be completed within the first two years of employment with a passing score.

Knowledge of the HUD program is a plus.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
