Our Management Company is seeking a bilingual (English and Spanish), experienced, serious, hardworking, reliable, and highly motivated Maintenance/Handyman to join our team at one of our properties in Plantation.
The maintenance position must ensure that all equipment is functional and properly maintained. The ideal candidate must be proactive and take charge.
The maintenance person must conduct themselves professionally, aligning with the values and mission of the Association, and demonstrate outstanding customer service skills. The ability to work independently and collaboratively is essential.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintain a safe and secure environment throughout the property.
Manage disaster preparedness by identifying potential problems, developing response plans, and handling crises.
Follow instructions and complete work orders from the Manager.
Be available on-call for emergencies and projects as assigned by the property manager.
Replace waste collection bags for dogs and cats throughout the community.
Perform pressure cleaning of common areas as needed.
Request materials, tools, and supplies necessary for jobs.
Follow safety procedures to maintain a safe work environment.
Properly utilize new equipment and tools such as pressure cleaners and golf carts, following safety protocols. Maintain golf carts through periodic oil changes, etc.
Assess repair needs, including evaluating problems to determine if professional assistance or further instructions are required.
Spend approximately 80% of the time working outdoors to maintain common grounds, including trash and debris removal and waste management coordination.
Conduct daily inspections of exterior common areas, such as the entrance, pool, and children’s playground, ensuring cleanliness and using tools like blowers to clear leaves.
Clean and maintain pool bathrooms and showers, replenish supplies, and keep inventory updated.
Arrange and clean pool furniture, maintain the pool deck, and oversee the work of the pool maintenance company three times weekly, ensuring logs are signed and filters are cleaned.
Supervise landscaping work, communicating with management regarding quality.
Perform annual painting of side curbs and small landscaping projects, including touch-ups in common areas.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES REQUIRED: Education/Training/Certifications/Licenses: High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Keep current knowledge of maintenance repairs.
Experience/Skills: Strong maintenance and repair skills, including painting and carpentry. Plumbing and electrical skills are a plus. Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in maintenance or handyman work. Effective communication and customer service skills are essential.
Language Requirements: English is mandatory; bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.
Availability: Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM, with availability after hours and holidays for emergencies. Willing to work overtime if necessary.
Physical Requirements:
Lift up to 50 lbs following safety procedures.
Work in various positions and environments, including standing, reaching, stooping, and climbing stairs.
Work outdoors in different weather conditions.
Perform repetitive motions with hands and wrists.
Possess a valid Florida driver’s license.
