BHIS Social Worker - O'Brien and Osceola Counties Lutheran Services in Iowa (LSI) currently seeks a Social Worker within our Behavioral Health Intervention Services (BHIS) program to serve the counties of O'Brien and Osceola.

This role works with families during afternoon and evening hours. Flexible schedule, travel is required as families are seen in their home environments. LSI will reimburse mileage.

Responsibilities This role builds behavioral skills for children and families to thrive in home and community settings.

Provide ongoing assessment to families Develop and make changes to the implementation plan based on a child or family's individual situation Evaluate a child or family's progress

Qualifications Qualified applicants for this role must have one of the following:

A Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or a human services related field, plus one year of full-time equivalent human service experience. Twenty hours of child mental health training may be substituted for experience.

A Bachelor’s degree in a non-human services related field, plus two years of full-time equivalent human service experience. Thirty hours of child mental health training may be substituted for experience.

Preferred applicants will meet the following qualifications:

A Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or a human services related field, plus one year of full-time equivalent child mental health services experience.

A Bachelor’s degree in a non-human services related field, plus two years of full-time equivalent child mental health services experience.

A qualifying degree and completion of 20 hours of child mental health training.

Bilingual applicants are strongly encouraged.

This position requires a valid driver's license, auto insurance, a good driving record, and the ability to pass an extensive background check, including checks of the Dependent Adult and Child Abuse registries, the Sex Offender registry, and the criminal history check.
