Legal Assistant / Receptionist
to join our team. This dual-role position is ideal for someone who enjoys both front-desk responsibilities and hands-on support in a legal setting. You will be the first point of contact for clients and visitors while also assisting in essential pre-litigation legal tasks. Spanish-speaking is preferred, but not required , as we serve a diverse client base. Key Responsibilities: Reception & Front Desk Duties: Answer and direct incoming phone calls in a courteous, professional manner Greet and assist clients and visitors as they arrive Manage office email correspondence and relay messages to appropriate team members Schedule appointments and maintain attorney calendars Maintain an organized, welcoming reception area Legal Assistant Duties: Perform telephone intakes on new potential cases Request, obtain, and organize medical records from providers Assist with pre-litigation tasks, including: Completing no-fault applications and related forms Preparing and organizing client files Opening and maintaining electronic case files in firm software Data entry and maintenance of case information Draft basic correspondence under attorney supervision Perform clerical tasks such as scanning, photocopying, and filing Ensure confidentiality and professionalism at all times Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience in a law office (Personal Injury experience is a strong plus) Familiarity with legal software, particularly SmartAdvocate or similar systems Spanish-speaking preferred, but not required Strong communication skills, both written and verbal Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel) Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment What We Offer: Supportive and collegial team atmosphere Hands-on training and opportunities for growth Exposure to all phases of personal injury pre-litigation Convenient Manhattan location Long-term career potential for the right candidate Company Description We are a small but growing plaintiff’s personal injury law firm located in Midtown Manhattan, steps away from Penn Station.
