Responsibilities
Provide person-centered wellness‑focused support to engage individuals in treatment and promote use of the individuals wellness recovery plan.
Share firsthand lived experiences with recovery to inspire hope and increase engagement in treatment and in the communities; support individuals in articulating personal goals for wellness, recovery resiliency, and self‑advocacy.
Function within the individuals treatment team and receive individual supervision.
Demonstrate knowledge of the signs and symptoms of mental illness and substance use disorders.
Provide peer support and serve as an advocate; carry out wellness rehabilitation for mental health and substance use disorders and support functions.
Promote recovery from substance use and/or mental health conditions; promote employment, education, health, and community integration; serve as a role model for personal recovery.
Deliver services including outreach, monitoring, advocacy, daily living support, crisis intervention, family consultation, development of functional skills and appropriate behavior, and transportation to implement the individual service plan.
Conduct services on an individual basis as needed; participate in special events, conferences, workshops, and training within the mental health system and community.
Work closely with staff, hospital, law enforcement agencies, and other community agencies and organizations; document all contacts and activities in the individual’s records.
Requirements
M1:
High school diploma or equivalent
M2:
Must be, or previously have been, a recipient of mental health or substance use disorder services for a mental illness or substance use disorder and should be well along in the recovery process
M3:
Valid driver’s license and safe driving record
Preferred Requirements
P1:
Certification as an Action Planning for Prevention and Recovery (APPR) Facilitator
P2:
Certification and Registration as a Peer Recovery Specialist
P3:
Some college
Fingerprints, State and FBI criminal record reports, drug test, and central registry (CANIS) report will be required upon request. Our Agency maintains a drug-free workplace.
Annual Salary Range $42,217 – $73,880
Shift Differential:
$2.00 for 2nd shift; $3.00 for 3rd shift
