Lecturer or Assistant Teaching Professor of Human Development and Family Studies Penn State York invites applications for a teaching-line faculty position in Human Development and Family Studies; non-tenure line appointment, 36 weeks to begin August 2025. This is a one-year appointment with the possibility of renewal. Responsibilities

Teach undergraduate courses that support students majoring in Human Development and Family Studies (HDFS) and in Psychology. Participate in course, curriculum, and program development; advise students; provide career guidance; participate in campus, University, and community service activities. Engage in activities to stay current in one’s discipline; commit to high-quality instruction in a student-centered environment. Show interest in active and collaborative learning, the instructional use of technology, and hybrid and online teaching; enthusiasm for working in a multidisciplinary environment. Qualifications

Master’s degree or Ph.D. with college-level teaching experience; MFT or CFLE credential preferred. Ability to teach courses in introductory psychology, abnormal psychology, childhood intervention, child development, teen and adolescent development, ethics and values in human development professions, counseling psychology, and related topics. Ability to teach lower- and upper-division courses in the candidate’s specialty that support the HDFS and Psychology majors and/or fulfill the University’s General Education requirements. Class sizes are small and the student/faculty ratio is low, so students can receive much individual attention.
