Essential Job Functions
Conduct on-site licensure inspections, complaint and incident investigations, and annual comprehensive surveys in agencies.
Investigate allegations of abuse, neglect, and exploitation.
Communicate findings clearly and accurately with internal and external stakeholders.
Prepare inspection/survey reports detailing deficiencies and narrative supporting regulatory findings.
Follow up with agencies to verify remediation of cited violations.
Perform quality assurance reviews of documents prepared by others.
Supervise team members during inspections when required.
Testify at hearings or court proceedings as needed.
Provide emergency licensure assistance and be on-call for emergencies.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of populations at risk in health care settings.

Quality assurance, certification, survey, or investigation experience.
Policy clarification and guidance skills.
Advanced written reporting skills.

Licensure & Training Requirements Must be licensed as a registered nurse by Texas or other state under the Nurse Licensure Compact. Successful completion of all training for Home and Community Support Services and Hospice Orientation is required.
Experience & Qualifications
Registered nurse with at least 2 years of experience in a health care setting.
Minimum 1 year experience in institutional care, home health, hospice, or long‑term care.
Experience working as an independent or autonomous health care provider in long‑term care settings.
Hospice experience preferred.
Ability to travel up to 80% of the time, including overnight and weekends.
Additional Information Flexibility in work hours and ability to work a compressed four‑day week. Must have reliable transportation. All applicants must pass a fingerprint criminal background check. The position is full‑time and exempt.
