Mechanical Technician (Plumbing)

– Wright-Patterson AFB (WPAFB), Ohio The Mechanical Technician (Plumbing) shall support the Air Force Research Laboratory at Wright-Patterson AFB (WPAFB). Responsibilities

Provide operation, repair, and maintenance for mechanical systems, water, fluids, and vapor (Plumbing) systems. Installation of hydraulic and pneumatic piping. Installation of high-pressure pneumatic piping. Repair and maintenance of vacuum systems and pumps. Installation of piping and plumbing equipment per manufacturer’s instructions. Complete annual company and customer-required training, as required. Complete timesheets daily in an online system according to company policies and procedures. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications

High School diploma or GED equivalent required. 8+ years plus technical experience or training as a mechanical technician with emphasis in Plumbing maintenance, installation, and repair (OR) Trade school or in a related college-level technical curriculum shall be considered equal experience time; however, a minimum of 5+ years of on-the-job technical experience is required. Must be a U.S. citizen. Public Trust/NACI required to start. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Must practice good housekeeping, tool control, Foreign Object Damage prevention, and safety at all times. Must be familiar with Level-1 Tool control and regulations. Ability to perform assembly, basic to complex modifications, and installation of equipment and systems from design drawings and/or sketches in accordance with accepted engineering practices. Experience with high-power, medium-voltage (4kV to 12kV) systems would be beneficial. Ability to comply with applicable codes and standards of the contract. Ability to pass customer security requirements required. Ability to attend all customer in-person meetings and conferences as required. Ability to work nights and weekends as required.
