Overview
BSU Incorporated is seeking an IPC Class 3 Electronics Solder Technician/Inspector. The candidate will solder, assemble and inspect surface mount and through-hole electronic components on printed circuit boards, read and interpret BOMs, routers, work instructions, and drawings, and ensure high-quality assemblies that meet industry standards. Due to ITAR restrictions, US Citizenship or a green card is required. Responsibilities
Solder surface mount components (fine pitch, SOIC, etc.). Solder through-hole components. Perform visual inspection of PCBs for IPC-A-610 workmanship requirements. Perform inspection tasks using microscopes, calipers, and micrometers. Inspect for visual cosmetic, dimensional, and fit & function compliance. Approve finished products by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; returning products for re-work as needed. Maintain quality standards by approving incoming materials, in-process production, and finished products; recording quality results. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications
Familiar with electronics components: resistors, capacitors, diodes, inductors, transistors, ICs, etc. Experience soldering surface mount and through-hole components to IPC Class 3. Experience inspecting surface mount and through-hole solder per IPC-A-610 Class 3 workmanship requirements. Good working knowledge of ESD and IPC-A-610 Class 3 workmanship requirements. Familiarity with J-Standard or Mil-Cert is beneficial. Ability to read and comprehend process documentation including Bills of Materials and Assembly drawings. Good English communication skills, both verbal and written. Component identification ability required; organized with the ability to track parts. Ability to follow detailed written or oral instructions. Education
High school diploma. Associate Degree (preferred). Proficient with Excel and Word. BSU offers an excellent benefit package including 401(k).
