Working under the direct supervision of Healthcare Technology Management leadership, the HTM Field Service Technician II follows the designated program for the acceptance, maintenance, safety, performance verification, and efficiency of biomedical equipment used for patient care. Tasks include routine maintenance of medical devices, referencing industry and institutional policies, procedures, and standards within UH Hospitals and Clinics. Works under supervision of a designated team lead and/or Supervisor. Benefits

Experience and Education Associate's Degree in Biomedical Equipment Technology, Clinical or Electrical Engineering, or similar field, OR applicable Military Training and experience 3 years of Healthcare Environment experience An equivalent combination of education and/or directly related experience may be substituted for stated requirements Licenses and Certifications Driver's license upon hire preferred C.B.E.T. or Biomedical Engineering Technician upon hire Job Duties

Perform duties at hospital-based and ambulatory clinic sites, traveling between locations to respond to service requests and perform maintenance tasks Install, repair, and maintain clinical biomedical equipment and instrumentation used for diagnosis, monitoring, treatment, or patient care Follow designated program for acceptance, maintenance, safety, performance verification, and efficiency of biomedical equipment Analyze electronic equipment for cause of failure, isolate, test, and replace defective parts; utilize computer and networking knowledge to interface medical systems as needed Design and construct cables, adapters, and interfacing equipment while ensuring safety and compliance Use a broad spectrum of hand tools and electronic, and computerized test equipment Maintain required records and reports relative to regulatory compliance of biomedical equipment Perform sensitivity, selectivity, and accuracy measurements and necessary operational adjustments Serve as a subject matter expert in medical device error diagnosis, maintenance, and repair across multiple asset classes Prioritize service calls and unscheduled maintenance, ensuring responses meet user department time guidelines Assist with design and construction of cables and interfacing equipment Participate in on-call duties as assigned and gain experience to assume on-call responsibilities within 1.5 years Maintain professional growth and knowledge through seminars, conferences, and educational forums Demonstrate commitment to UT Southwestern Values of Excellence, Compassion, Teamwork, and Innovation Attend required meetings; perform other duties as assigned Security and EEO Statement
