Hydrologist (High Priority Role)

Experience : 5+ years

Requirements :

PE License

Drainage experience with H&H (Hydrology & Hydraulics)

Senior & Junior positions available

H&H expertise is needed across all projects

Job Summary: This person will be responsible for coordinating and leading comprehensive Hydrologic and Hydraulic design projects with our Project Managers on both public and private projects.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Superior hydrology capabilities including:

Clearly define and facilitate the hydrology project scope, goals and deliverables to project managers

Proficient in preparation of various submittals to FEMA

Ability to perform hydrologic/hydraulic modeling using the latest software accepted by FEMA and USACE such as HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, HEC-GeoRAS, HPSWMM, Civil3D, AutoCAD, ArcGIS.

Accountable for the delivery of assigned hydrology projects from conception to completion

Review all plans, specifications, and work product before submittal to the client or any public entity

Ensure accurate, complete and timely communication to Project Managers

Has knowledge and continues to keep knowledge current as to commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the industry

Oversee and manage a team of hydrologists, technicians, analysts, and professionals including mentoring and training of engineers

Qualifications and Skills:

Frequent communication with project managers

Answer phone calls and emails preferably within the same day but no more than 24 hours after receipt

Setting an example through prompt arrival time to work and meetings; on time submission of time cards and billing

Strong time management skills and ability to multi-task and handle multiple projects at one time

Able to set internal deadlines and meet client deadlines

Team building skills and ability to work in a team environment for project collaboration

Manage staff through project assignments, professional development and skills development

Storm Water Management

Hydrology and Hydraulic Modeling and Analysis

Watershed Study and Master Drainage Plan

Drainage and Detention Design for Commercial and Residential Developments

Highway and Roadway Drainage and Mitigation Design

Erosion and Sediment Control

NPDES/MS4

Stormwater Utility

Drainage Master Planning

Dam and Reservoir Safety Assessment and Environmental Evaluation

Bridge Hydraulics and Scour Analysis

FEMA NFIP Flood Studies (including LOMR, CLOMR, LOMA, and LOMR-F)

Floodway No Impact Analysis and Certification

Hazard Mitigation Planning

Bridge and Culvert Hydraulics

Channel Improvements

Storm Sewer and Culvert Design

2D analysis, flood plain mapping, bridge and culvert hydraulics, riverine hydraulics, dam break analysis, scour analysis, sediment transport analysis, regional and local storm water impact and mitigation analysis, urban storm water management and master planning, detention/retention design
