This internship offers a learning program designed for candidates interested in a potential full-time role similar to the one described below. DoD Skillbridge participants are not eligible for compensation from Associated Milk Producers, Inc., as they continue to receive military pay and benefits.
AMPI owns seven manufacturing plants in the Midwest, producing 10% of the nation's American-type cheese, processed cheese, and butter. The cooperative markets its award-winning dairy products to various customers. In 2019, it launched the Dinner Bell Creamery brand, emphasizing over 50 years of partnership with dairy farm families.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
This list is not exhaustive and may be expanded as needed by management. Report safety, food safety, and quality issues to management. Maintain high standards of food safety and quality. Manage, mentor, and support production staff. Collaborate with maintenance to address equipment issues and optimize operations. Ensure production goals are met daily and monthly. Oversee equipment setup to meet productivity targets. Develop and implement training procedures, including cross-training. Provide daily updates to managers. Build strong relationships with plant personnel, demonstrating leadership and communication skills. Understand and address software control systems and training. Promote a safety culture and ensure adherence to safety policies. Participate in annual food safety and quality reviews. Identify and resolve problems efficiently and collaboratively. Foster a positive team environment and morale. Manage projects effectively, including planning and communication. Prioritize tasks, plan work activities, and allocate resources. Engage team members in planning and decision-making, providing feedback and growth opportunities. React well under pressure, treat others respectfully, and accept responsibility. Lead and oversee quality, food safety, GMP, and safety policies, reporting nonconformities. Maintain strong customer relationships and address complaints with root cause analysis and corrective actions. This position requires the ability to perform the listed duties successfully.
