This internship offers a learning program designed to prepare qualified candidates for potential full-time roles similar to the one described below. DoD Skillbridge participants are not eligible for compensation from Associated Milk Producers, Inc., as they continue to receive military pay and benefits as active-duty service members. AMPI owns seven manufacturing plants in the Midwest, producing 10% of the nation's American-type cheese, processed cheese, and butter. The cooperative's products are marketed across foodservice, retail, and food ingredient sectors. In 2019, the co-op launched the Dinner Bell Creamery brand and the Co-op Crafted promise, emphasizing over 50 years of dairy farm partnerships with skilled cheesemakers and buttermakers. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
This list is not exhaustive and may be expanded as needed by management. Report employee safety, food safety, and food quality issues to authorities. Maintain heightened responsibilities for food safety and quality. Manage, mentor, and support production staff and operations. Collaborate with maintenance to identify equipment issues, prioritize daily tasks, and improve machine efficiency. Ensure production goals are met daily and monthly. Complete equipment setups within required timeframes to meet productivity standards. Develop training procedures to enhance job knowledge and facilitate cross-training. Provide daily updates to department managers. Build strong relationships with plant personnel, providing leadership and effective communication. Understand and address software control systems, including performance issues and training. Promote a safety culture focused on zero injuries and motivate adherence to safety policies. Participate in annual reviews of Food Safety and Quality systems. Identify and resolve problems promptly through analysis and teamwork. Create a positive team environment to boost morale and achieve goals. Manage projects with effective planning, communication, and resource allocation. Develop and prioritize action plans, including resource planning. Involve team members in planning and decision-making, providing feedback and growth opportunities. React well under pressure, treat others with respect, and accept responsibility. Lead and enforce Quality, Food Safety, GMP, and Safety policies, reporting nonconformities. Maintain strong customer relationships, investigate complaints, and implement corrective actions. This position requires the ability to perform all essential duties.
