RN - Neonatal ICU About Facility: 247 Licensed Beds; Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center; Teaching Hospital; Chest Pain Center; Certified Stroke Center. Radius rule: Traveler’s permanent address must be 50 miles outside of home unit. Unit Information

Beds: 53 plus overflow; patient census on average is 58 Responsibilities & Qualifications

Required Experience: 2 years of strong Level 3 and/or Level 4 NICU experience. MUST be comfortable in a high acuity, fast paced environment. Will you accept a first-time traveler? Must have manager approval on first time travelers, as this will depend on current staffing. Patient Types/Common Diagnoses include: Respiratory Distress Syndrome, TTN, MAS, Bronchopulmonary Dysplasia, etc.; Congenital Heart Defects (TOF, VSD, HLHS), PDA, Persistent Pulmonary Hypertension of the Newborn (PPHN), etc.; Seizures, IVH, Hypoxic-Ischemic Encephalopathy; NEC, Feeding Intolerance, GER, Renal Failure, Birth Trauma, Congenital Anomalies, Sepsis, NAS, TORCH infections, Hypothermia, Hypoglycemia, etc. RN Ratios by acuity: 1:1, 1:2, 1:3 Required Licensure & Certifications: RN: BLS, NRP Skills & Equipment

EPIC experience; invasive line management (ART lines/CVP); EVDs; Camino device (ICP and temp monitoring); vasoactive drip titration; aseptic/sterile techniques; dressing changes; ventilator and trach management; HOBV management; suctioning; feeding tube management (g-tube/j-tube); chest tubes; epidurals; PCAs; sedation/analgesia management; foley; pump management (Alaris/Medfusion); bedside procedures with providers; discharge skills; CRRT; ECMO awareness. Support within the Department

Unit Secretary every shift Charge nurse, 24/7 IV/VAT/PCVC Team, 24/7 Resource Nurse RT, 24/7 Intensivist, 24/7 Residents in house; APP in house Centralized and bedside Tele monitoring Unit Based Educators (AM and PM) Clinical Supervisors x 6 Technology & Equipment

EMR: EPIC IV Pumps: Alaris and Medfusion syringe pumps Med Dispensing: Omnicell Monitors: Phillips Equipment: PIV Ultrasound and Tecotherm Breast Milk Scanning: MOMs Float & Orientation

Floating: Possible to Neonatal PCU; Gen Peds – float as needed to Pediatric CVICU, PICU, and general Peds if prior experience Orientation: NEO; 2 days departmental Scheduling & Time Off

The combination of the 2 Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and Mondays can be grouped together or worked separately as long as eight shifts occur within the 6-week period Unit requirement is the Eve and/or Day after holiday, and day of holiday, every other holiday while contracted Weekend rotation: work 2 Fridays and 2 Mondays, plus every other weekend (Sat/Sun) every 6-week schedule No call for travelers; if NICU cannot utilize them, they may be floated to similar units Holiday expectations: Travelers work holidays as scheduled RTO: Manager approval – prefer travelers not to have significant RTO needs; if needed, contract extensions may be required Schedule cycle: every 6 weeks based on unit needs; Clinical Supervisor provides dates of needs Dress Code & Practice Guidelines

Dress Code: Navy/White solid tops; no tight scrubs; pediatric-friendly scrub tops; avoid other organizational attire Bare Below Elbow: no watches, permanent jewelry, rings; no artificial nails Scrub Color: Navy Unit Culture & Logistics
