As our reach expands globally, we’re seeking a Compliance & Trade Specialist to ensure we operate with integrity, accountability, and excellence at every checkpoint.
The Role: The Compliance & Trade Specialist will oversee regulatory compliance and trade policy across all aspects of our supply chain, particularly in customs, labeling, international agreements, and import/export practices. You'll ensure we meet legal standards while protecting our brand, optimizing operations, and expanding our distribution footprint across regions and borders.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure compliance with U.S. and international trade regulations, including CBP, USDA, FDA, and local Caribbean authorities
Monitor, interpret, and apply changes in import/export rules, tariffs, and trade policies
Review and approve commercial invoices, shipping documentation, and customs declarations
Maintain accurate classification of goods (HTS codes), valuations, and country‑of‑origin documentation
Advise internal teams on compliance risks, labeling requirements, and regulatory documentation
Manage relationships with customs brokers, trade attorneys, and government agencies
Support audits, filings, certifications, and inspections (e.g., FDA, CTPAT, HACCP)
Educate internal departments on trade compliance best practices and risk mitigation
Qualifications:
3–5 years experience in trade compliance, international logistics, or regulatory affairs
In‑depth knowledge of U.S. import/export law, trade agreements, and food safety regulations
Strong understanding of HTS codes, incoterms, COO, and documentation requirements
Experience working with food, CPG, or culturally rooted consumer goods (preferred)
Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills
Bonus: Familiarity with Caribbean trade regulations and multilingual capabilities (Spanish, Creole)
