About the Role The Area Supervisor is a member of Store Leadership responsible for a specific store area and for overall store operations when acting as Manager on Duty. Duties include opening/closing, supervising associates, maintaining a clean and welcoming environment, and ensuring safe and secure store operations.
Essential Functions Maintaining Safe & Secure Environments
Prioritize safety and practice safe behaviors.
Monitor the sales floor for a safe shopping environment and report unsafe conditions.
Secure the building, entrance/exit control, EAS devices, cash office, and registered areas.
Keep egress clear and test fire alarm systems.
Manage customer safety, incident reporting, and emergency procedures.
Customer Service
Treat all customers, associates, and leaders with respect.
Show courtesy, friendliness, and professionalism at all times.
Recognize associates through company recognition programs.
Personal and Store Brand
Represent and support the company brand and dress code.
Maintain professional appearance of all staff.
Keep store areas clean, well‑maintained, and merchandised to standard.
Manage daily trash removal.
General Merchandising
Ensure recovery, sizing and markdowns meet company standards.
Receive merchandise truck and non‑merchandise deliveries.
Process merchandise urgently and maintain stockroom organization.
Assist with floor moves, signings, and re‑wraps.
Maintain loss prevention and compliance with presentation guidelines.
Loss Prevention
Follow the Loss Prevention Awareness Program and provide a customer service presence.
Operate PVM system and conduct “Code 50” package inspections.
Safeguard confidential information and merchandise.
Execute best practices to minimize loss.
Front End Supervision and Operations
Ensure Associates perform front‑end tasks to company standards.
Manage drive‑line pace and customer wait time.
Train associates on cash registers and shortage control.
Control break schedules for retirees.
Maintain front‑end equipment and supplies.
Teach “Scan and Bag” and ensure salability of merchandise.
Fitting Rooms
Maintain cleanliness and audit garment tags.
Ensure go‑back compliance and proper tagging.
Administrative Duties (as assigned)
Conduct cash pulls, bank deposits, and front‑end control.
Handle payroll administration and scheduling compliance.
Other duties delegated by Store Manager.

Prior customer service and supervisory experience preferred
Familiarity with point‑of‑sale equipment
Basic math skills for retail
Availability for evenings and weekends
Physical Requirements
Use all store equipment: PDTs, registers, PC.
Spend up to 100 % of time standing, walking, moving.
Regularly bend, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, stoop.
Occasionally push, pull, lift >25 lb.
Use janitorial equipment and ladders as required.
Stockroom shifts may require pushing, pulling, lifting >20 lb.
Compensation and Benefits The base pay range is $16.50 – $17.00 per hour, dependent on experience, skills, and location.
