Job Overview WSP is seeking a Transportation Planning Engineer who can take on a Project Manager role and contribute to a broad spectrum of transportation planning and engineering projects across Canada and beyond.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with colleagues on projects and opportunities, from data collection and analysis to reporting and supporting your team on a variety of in‑field and in‑office technical tasks.
Apply best practices and identify innovative solutions in active transportation master planning and design assignments, engineering analyses, and studies for multi‑modal transportation, transit, and traffic projects.
Develop progressive experience in project management and coordination.
Work with a multi‑disciplinary team including transportation/traffic engineers, planners, designers, and landscape architects.
Prepare and/or oversee technical memos and reports to communicate technical results and recommendations.
Attend and participate in client and public meetings.
Qualifications
A passion and/or professional interest in transportation and contributing to the planning and design of multi‑modal solutions.
Undergraduate or Graduate Degree in Transportation Engineering.
P. Eng license.
5‑8 or more years of experience in the transportation engineering and planning field, including transportation impact assessments, active transportation infrastructure design, project management, and senior engineering responsibilities.
Strong technical writing and presentation skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
Experience in traffic operations and site analysis.
Familiarity with transportation software and methods (e.g., Synchro/SimTraffic, HCS, Sidra, VISSIM, VISTRO, Aimsun).
Ability to collaborate and work in a team environment and a desire to grow professionally.
Project management, leadership, communication, and customer‑relationship skills.
