Overview
Vascular Ultrasound Tech III - Per Diem, Varies, Vascular Lab, Morristown NJ. This role is with Atlantic Health. Base pay range: $44.76/hr - $44.76/hr
Responsibilities
Performs comprehensive ultrasound exams. Follows established protocols to verify, plan, set up, perform, and report appropriate examinations. Verifies identity and informs and observes patient during procedure to ensure patient education, cooperation, and safety. Assists in continuing quality assurance and performance improvement.
Completes clerical tasks associated with ultrasound tests. Records testing information accurately and timely. Ensures that critical results are reported promptly and accurately, following policy. Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality.
Communicates with physicians, patients, and other center personnel. Maintains a pleasant and informative manner. Makes recommendations to supervisor on related duties, policies and procedures.
Supports teamwork: demonstrates motivation, accountability, and problem solving; mentors and develops others when appropriate.
Maintains a clean and orderly work area; ensures lab and patient areas are kept clean; notifies supervisor of stocking and equipment needs; participates in lab opening/closing as appropriate; cleans and maintains equipment per Infection Control policies.
Identifies learning needs, attends in-services and department meetings; strives to increase proficiency in testing and lab procedures; suggests new or more efficient techniques and processes.
Qualifications
Position Qualifications Required: Registry through CCI or ARDMS
Training/Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association
Echo Sonographer III; Registered Sonographer
Vascular Tech. III; RVT/RVS
Excellent interpersonal skills; effective verbal and written communication; basic proficiency with computer systems
