Overview
Echo Sonographer III and Vascular Tech. III roles with responsibilities across ultrasound examinations, clerical tasks, communication, teamwork, and safety procedures. The position emphasizes professional development, adherence to protocols, and contributions to quality assurance. Responsibilities
Performs comprehensive ultrasound exams following established protocols to verify, plan, set up, perform, and report appropriate examinations. Verifies patient identity and informs and observes the patient during the procedure to ensure education, cooperation, and safety. Assists in continuing quality assurance and performance improvement. Completes clerical tasks associated with ultrasound tests. Records all testing information accurately and in a timely manner. Ensures that critical results are reported promptly and accurately according to policy. Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality. Communicates with physicians, patients, and other center personnel in a pleasant and informative manner. Makes recommendations to supervisor on related duties, policies, and procedures. Fosters a teamwork-oriented environment. Demonstrates motivation, accountability, and problem-solving; seeks guidance when appropriate and mentors others as needed. Considers the impact of individual performance on the team. Maintains a clean and orderly work area. Cleans patient areas after use and supports a clean lab environment. Notifies supervisor of stocking or equipment needs or problems. Follows lab opening/closing procedures when appropriate. Cleans and maintains all equipment per Hospital Infection Control policies. Identifies personal learning needs and pursues department opportunities for growth. Attends in-services, lab and departmental meetings; aims to increase proficiency in testing and related procedures. Suggests new or more efficient techniques and processes. Qualifications
Position Qualifications Required: Registry through CCI or ARDMS; Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association. Echo Sonographer III: Registered Sonographer. Vascular Tech.
