Job Summary:
The Project Manager I plays a vital role in supporting our expanding Boeing program portfolio by assisting multiple Program Managers in the day-to-day management of active programs. This internal-facing position is responsible for ensuring tasks are completed on schedule, corrective actions are addressed, work transfers are processed efficiently and maintaining seamless internal communication. The Project Manager I is instrumental in enhancing execution efficiency, alleviating the workload of Program Managers, and fostering internal collaboration across the enterprise. The Project Manager I is adept at performing under pressure, communicates effectively, and manages multiple priorities with precision and accountability.
Responsibilities and Tasks:
Track and manage internal action items, milestones, and deliverables across multiple programs
Support closure of corrective actions, risks, and opportunities through coordinated follow-up
Draft and maintain corporate work transfers and ensure affiliate sites receive complete and timely documentation
Serve as the key liaison between Program Managers and functional departments (engineering, supply chain, quality, etc.)
Organize and facilitate internal program sync meetings, capture notes, and drive accountability on task owners
Update and manage project timelines, deliverable trackers, and other PM tools
Assist in preparing executive-level summaries and reports for leadership visibility
Maintain and monitor shared folders, trackers, and collaboration platforms
Help identify process bottlenecks or improvement opportunities to enable smoother program execution
Education, Experience & License or Certification:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Operations, or related field or 2–5 years of experience in a project coordination or project management role
Proficiency with MS Office Suite (especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
Experience with project tools like Microsoft Project, Jira, or similar is a plus
Skills and Abilities:
Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage shifting priorities
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
Experience supporting large, complex projects or programs (Aerospace/Defense experience preferred)
Proven ability to work independently while supporting cross-functional teams
Detail-oriented with a commitment to follow-through and documentation
Experience working in a DoD or Aerospace & Defense environment (preferred but not required)
Familiarity with Boeing processes or customer programs (preferred but not required)
PMP, CAPM, or other relevant certifications (preferred but not required)
Success in the role looks like:
Closing 95%+ of assigned actions within the required timeframe
Maintaining 100% on-time submission of internal work transfer documents
Supporting 2–3 Program Managers simultaneously without schedule slips
Delivering timely and complete meeting recaps and task updates to leadership
Travel/Physical Requirements:
Requires sustained periods of concentration.
Must be able to handle stressful situations without affecting logical decision making.
