Perform highly advanced, specialized, and/or managerial psychological work with minimal supervision and extensive initiative and judgment. Provide professional supervision and consultation for all staff psychologists and special programs; may supervise psychology interns or practicum students. Participate in hiring decisions, supervise staff, and conduct ongoing performance evaluations. Review and coordinate behavior support plans and assess the use of psychotropic medications; evaluate behavior support plan implementation. Work with Unit Directors and staff psychologists to facilitate program effectiveness; oversee professional development for staff in areas such as applied behavior analysis and contemporary psychological issues. Maintain knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and agency policy; develop systems to meet standards. Supervise clerical staff and manage budgetary responsibilities related to psychological and behavioral services. Travel as required and accommodate variations in work schedule as needed. Essential Job Functions (EJFs): Attends work on a regular basis and may work a specific or rotating schedule with overtime as needed; provide supervision and consultation to staff; evaluate and improve psychological/behavioral services; ensure training and coordination across the facility; oversee quality and effectiveness of forensic psychological activities; participate in staff selection and orientation; perform other duties as assigned including disaster response or COOP activation. Qualifications and KSAs
Must be licensed as a Psychologist by the State of Texas or a reciprocity state. Doctoral degree in Psychology; at least three years of experience in inpatient psychiatric psychological services and in the administration of standardized evaluations; experience with applied behavior analysis and behavior support planning preferred. Minimum 2 years’ supervisory experience of psychological/behavioral and programming staff preferred. Knowledge of laws, regulations, policies; ability to train and supervise staff; strong assessment and documentation skills; advanced writing skills for technical reports. Leadership abilities to motivate staff and implement changes; proficiency with computers and relevant software. Registrations, Licensure, Certifications: Must be licensed as a Psychologist by the State of Texas or a reciprocity state. Initial Screening Criteria
Doctoral degree in Psychology. 3+ years in administering psychological services in inpatient psychiatric settings (preferred). 3+ years in administration of standardized evaluations; ABA and behavior support planning preferred; supervisory experience preferred. Additional Information: Applicants must pass fingerprint background check, pre-employment drug screen, and registry checks. Males 18-25 must be registered with Selective Service.
