Location : Methodist Women's Hospital, 707 N. 190th Plaza - Elkhorn, NE

Work Schedule : Day Shift, 35 hours per week. This will be a varied weekly schedule alternating weekends, call, and holidays. Schedule is 8:30am-7:00pm and on weekends it is 11:00am-9:00pm. This position is eligible for full-time benefits.

Job Summary : Produce images of the human body for medical diagnostic purposes. Perform diagnostic and Computed Tomography (CT) imaging examinations.

Responsibilities Essential Job Functions :

Demonstrates confidence and competency in all age-specific categories; performance of exams; QA; and safety protocols including time-out before procedures.

Assists surgeon/radiologist with surgery or special procedures; directs radiographic equipment for optimal visualization.

Maintains room setup, responds to paging, and ensures PowerChart/PACS readiness for cases.

Knowledge of order entry, correct exams and indications; matches images to RIS orders for viewing in PACS; starts and completes exams; uses Exam Management; documents meds and allergies; uses Powerscribe.

Maintains supplies and communicates needs; verifies patient identification and proper anatomical orientation on films; cleans/disinfects equipment after each case.

Teamwork and department workflow management; supports start of shift and coverage as needed; assists colleagues and maintains effective communication with pertinent areas.

On-the-job training of students per Methodist College Standards; maintains professional relationships with students and instructors.

Follows department policies and procedures and demonstrates Imaging Behavior Standards.

Job Requirements Education : Graduate of an approved American Medical Association School of Radiologic Technology required.

Experience : One year experience in CT or a graduate from an approved CT/MRI program preferred.

Licenses/Certifications :

ARRT registered in Radiography (R) required.

ARRT registered in Computed Tomography (CT) required.

Technologists who have completed clinical training and are CT Board eligible will be considered with the understanding that the registry will be passed within 12 months of hire.

New technologists who require clinical training to become CT board eligible will be considered with the understanding that advanced board certification is required within 12 months of completing clinical training.

Current Medical Radiographer license for work state required.

Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) strongly preferred at time of hire, required within 3 months of hire.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities :

Strong interpersonal skills to communicate with patients, family members, and hospital personnel.

Analytical skills to compute exposure factors and manage multiple tasks.

Adept at working with pediatric patients.

Strong knowledge in cross-sectional anatomy for CT exams and identification of abnormalities.

Physical Requirements :

Weight: Medium Work – exerting up to 50 pounds.

Physical Activity: various levels including standing, walking, lifting, carrying, bending, reaching, and repetitive motions.

Vision and hearing requirements as listed; ability to distinguish colors.

Job Hazards :

Occasional exposure to chemical, biological, physical hazards and radiation as part of imaging procedures.
