Certified Medical Assistant Float - Hudson Valley, NY Company: Nuvance Health / GoHealth Urgent Care. Urgent care centers across the Hudson Valley / Western Connecticut regions. This role supports examination and treatment of patients under the direction of an urgent care provider and includes front desk responsibilities and patient flow coordination. Responsibilities
Assist in examination and treatment of patients under the direction of an urgent care provider. Manage check-in and registration, interview patients, measure vital signs, and record information in patient charts. Prepare treatment rooms for examination and, if required, draw and collect blood samples and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis. Process co-pays and schedule patient appointments; coordinate provider referrals to specialists. Answer patient questions regarding care and keep them informed of their status; inform technical staff of patient flow. Prepare patients for examination, verify information and medical history, and confirm purpose of visit. Perform preliminary physical tests (blood pressure, weight, temperature, etc.) and escalate critical cases to the provider as needed. Conduct point-of-care testing as needed (e.g., flu, strep, urinalysis, ECG, HCG) and relay results to the provider. Stock supplies and maintain exam rooms, front desk, and reception areas; maintain inventory and check expiration dates on supplies. Maintain medical records and scan charts to patient files; handle phone calls and daily mail as needed. Perform opening and closing duties, cash handling, end-of-day communication, and building security. Follow operating instructions to perform and document daily controls and calibration of equipment; maintain QA/QC logs; troubleshoot equipment issues and submit repair tickets as needed. All other duties as assigned. Qualifications
Education: High School Diploma required; Medical Assisting Program preferred. Work Experience: Medical Assistant experience preferred; Front Desk experience preferred. Licenses/ Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) required at time of hire (ARC or AHA). One of the following at time of hire: CCMA, CMA, RMA, NCMA, NRCMA. In lieu of MA certification: Accredited Nursing/LPN/RN, EMT, or CNA accepted. Essential Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
Basic Medical Assistant duties; typing and computer skills; proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel. Detail oriented; able to work in a team; strong written and verbal communication; respectful and culturally sensitive interactions. Compensation
Hourly rate: $17.50 - $25.50. Bonus eligible up to $600/month. Additional Information
