Position: Mechanical Engineer II, Req#: CRNGJP00028771

Location: Hemlock, MI (Solar Plant), (100% Onsite)

Duration: 3+ Months Contract (potential to extend)

Work schedule B Shift 4:00 PM - 12:00 AM, typical 40 hours per week. May require working weekends/holidays or longer days to support project schedule.

Interview Process Initial phone screen, then teams meeting. Candidates who are not local and willing to relocate at their own expense will be considered. Remember this is a temporary assignment to assist in the start-up of the Hemlock plant.

Job Description

A mechanical engineer responsible for providing hands-on support identifying and implementing solutions to equipment issues during start-up and commissioning in the Solar wafer manufacturing plant

Team member collaborating with a diverse team (mechanical, electrical, controls, facilities, IT, operations, etc.) in a solar wafer manufacturing setting

Main focus is on equipment installation and the startup of multiple lines in rapid succession

May be required to work off shifts

Education required

BS in Mechanical Engineering is required (not preferred)

2+ years required, 5+ years preferred

This is a hands-on engineering position. This engineer will be troubleshooting equipment, installing equipment and debugging. This is not a position focused on design.

Creative/innovative problem solving.

Experience in completing projects in a manufacturing environment.

Excellent Analytical Skills - Decision-making based on data.

Must be a self-starter, able to work in a team environment and motivate others.

Strong data analysis, interpretation, visualization, and problem-solving skills

Proficiency in using software packages such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks

Excellent communications, interpersonal and influencing skills.

Ability to collaborate and work with diverse teams (skills, gender, culture, race, etc.)

Capable of multitasking

Demonstrated technical expertise in equipment installation, debug, startup, and troubleshooting

Responsibilities

Assist and support the team in the execution of equipment start-up to include setting up equipment, collecting data, and making modifications based on needs

Providing feedback and suggestions to improve equipment and product quality

Supports problem-solving in manufacturing, including root cause identification and resolution.

Applies knowledge of engineering principles and methods to resolve challenges.

Demonstrates personal use of engineering tools and methodologies to understand and address root causes of production issues.

Supports the development of standard work documentation to include SOPs, SOS, Job Aids and Training Documentation.

Ensures safe work practices.

Mandarin speaking is a plus
