Instructor – General Chemistry / Forensic Science – Carolina Core Chemistry

The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry invites applications for a full-time, professional‑track faculty position at the rank of Instructor to begin on August 16, 2025. This is a 9‑month appointment in the areas of General Chemistry and Forensic Science that may be renewed contingent upon Dean’s approval, satisfactory performance, departmental needs, and the availability of funding. Responsibilities

Teach four courses per semester (eight courses per 9‑month appointment or the equivalent in chemistry labs), including General Chemistry I & II, Introduction to Forensic Science, and/or chemistry for non‑science majors. Ensure that essential chemicals and appropriate instrumentation are available for laboratory courses. Provide support to the Department’s lecture or lab programs as necessary. Required Education and Experience

Master’s degree in chemistry or forensic science. At least six semesters of experience teaching undergraduate courses in general chemistry, forensic science, organic chemistry, or chemistry for non‑science majors by the appointment start date. Preferred Qualifications

Ph.D. in chemistry, forensic science, or a closely related discipline by the appointment start date with evidence of potential for excellence in teaching. Application Instructions
