Maintenance Engineer (Food & Beverage Production Facility) – Pivotal Recruitment Ltd
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Maintenance Engineer to support our food and beverage production facility in Ohio. The successful candidate will ensure that all processing, packaging, and utility equipment operates efficiently, safely, and in compliance with food industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, execute, and oversee preventive and predictive maintenance activities for production and utility equipment (mixers, conveyors, filling lines, boilers, chillers, etc.).
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems to minimize production downtime.
Support and lead root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring equipment failures.
Develop and maintain maintenance documentation including SOPs, work orders, and equipment records in the CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
Collaborate with Production, Quality Assurance, and Engineering to ensure equipment meets food safety and regulatory standards (FDA, USDA, GMP).
Participate in and support capital projects, process improvements, and equipment installations or upgrades.
Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and sanitation policies.
Train maintenance technicians and operators on proper equipment use and basic troubleshooting.
Required Qualifications
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent technical experience.
3+ years of maintenance or reliability experience in a manufacturing environment (food and beverage preferred).
Strong working knowledge of mechanical systems, PLCs, electrical controls, pneumatics, hydraulics, and utilities.
Familiarity with GMPs, HACCP, and food safety regulations.
Experience with CMMS systems (e.g., SAP PM, eMaint, Fiix).
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with automation or controls (Allen‑Bradley, Siemens).
Experience working in the food and beverage industry.
Certification in reliability or maintenance (CMRP, PMP, or equivalent).
Knowledge of TPM, Lean Manufacturing, or Six Sigma methodologies.
$90,000 – $115,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
