Diesel Technician/Mechanic III - Entry Level. Ready to accelerate your career while helping our customers move forward? As a Technician at Penske, you’ll perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs on a well-maintained fleet and help customers keep their vehicles on the road.
Location: 340 Industrial Way, Dixon, CA 95620
Responsibilities
Maintain vehicles and ensure safety for customers
Log, research, and complete repairs using Penske tools and technologies, including basic diagnostics
Perform preventative maintenance (e.g., tire replacement/rotation, lubrication, basic electrical and cooling system maintenance on gas/diesel engines)
Partner with your manager to learn new skills through Penske’s technician training and hands-on coaching
Work on additional projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor

Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational/technical certification in vehicle repair preferred
Basic mechanical aptitude with 1–2 years automotive or diesel repair experience (preferred)
Valid driver’s license
Problem-solving ability and comfort using tools
Excellent customer service and communication skills
Ability to work well in a team and outdoors
Basic computer skills
Ability to follow Penske instructions, guidelines, and safety policies (DOT/OSHA compliant)
Regular, predictable attendance is essential
DOT-regulated position requiring a current driver qualification file; includes MVR, DOT Physical, and Safety History records; CDL holders may require DOT Drug Screening and FMCSA Clearinghouse review
Willingness to work the required schedule, travel for training as needed, and pass background and drug screens as required by DOT
Physical Requirements
Frequent movement, standing, walking, climbing, bending, and sitting for extended periods
Regular use of hands to operate required tools
Ability to work safely at heights and in all weather conditions
Vision and hearing adequate to navigate the work environment
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (occasionally up to 100 lbs)
