Position Overview We are seeking an experienced, skilled and driven Estimator / Project Manager to oversee the full lifecycle of commercial, industrial, and residential electrical projects - from sales support and budgeting through estimating, procurement, design coordination, construction execution, and project closeout.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and highly collaborative, with the ability to lead projects while building strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and municipalities.
This is a full-time, in-office position based out of our Corporate Office in Stillwater, MN. The standard schedule is 40 hours per week, generally Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Some flexibility may be required for project or client needs.
Key Duties & Responsibilities Estimating & Budgeting
Develop detailed project estimates with accurate labor, material, and equipment costs.
Solicit, compare, and negotiate bids from subcontractors and vendors.
Create and present project budgets, proposals, and cost-tracking reports.
Ensure estimates align with company pricing structures and industry benchmarks.
Pre-Construction & Client Support
Attend client meetings to understand scope, goals, and expectations.
Support sales efforts by preparing proposals, organizing documentation, and maintaining activity logs.
Provide clear, transparent estimates and communicate budget updates to clients.
Research permitting requirements and coordinate with architects, engineers, and consultants.
Project Coordination & Scheduling
Assist with procurement of materials, tools, equipment rentals, and prefabrication needs.
Ensure timely delivery of materials to job sites.
Track and manage project schedules; distribute updated reports weekly.
Coordinate planning meetings and align project plans with general contractors and owners.
Build and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors and suppliers.
Coordinate subcontractor scopes, pricing, and availability.
Review subcontractor bids for accuracy and completeness of scope.
Construction & Project Management
Oversee project execution, ensuring alignment with scope, budget, and schedule.
Monitor field activity with site visits, field reports, and superintendent check-ins.
Review and approve submittals, RFIs, change orders, and purchase orders.
Maintain detailed records of contracts, budgets, change orders, and schedules.
Enforce compliance with codes, safety policies, and company standards.
Project Closeout & Warranty
Coordinate final inspections, certifications, and turnover documentation.
Deliver closeout packages and warranty books.
Maintain warranty communication and coordinate service follow-up as needed.
Requirements
5+ years of experience in estimating OR project management (electrical or construction industry preferred).
Strong understanding of electrical systems, construction methods, and project lifecycles.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
Excellent organizational, negotiation, and problem‑solving skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact across all levels.
Knowledge of NEC and local codes; field experience preferred.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work flexible hours as needed.
