Overview

The primary purpose of this position is to perform a variety of duties related to youth flight direction and administration and to complete development assignments and training outlined in the formal management trainee training and development plan. Acceptance of applications as part of the public notice process; duties include development assignments in youth programs and services for community needs. Performs developmental assignments in the application of professional principles, techniques, methods, and procedures used to provide youth programs and services that meet community needs. Assists the Youth Center Director to ensure a safe, healthy, and comfortable environment exists in Youth Programs facilities, grounds, playgrounds, and sports fields and that security and maintenance are monitored. Assists the Youth Center Director in managing appropriated funds (APF) and non-appropriated funds (NAF), and funds from other sources. Conducts special assignments in keeping with the formal training plan. Qualifications

BASIC REQUIREMENT OR INDIVIDUAL OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENT: Degree: that included or was supplemented by major study in education or in a subject-matter field appropriate to the position. OR Combination of education and experience — courses equivalent to a major in education, or in a subject-matter field appropriate to the position, plus appropriate experience or additional course work that provided knowledge comparable to that normally acquired through the successful completion of the 4-year course of study described in A above. To qualify for a GS-07:

Completion of 1 academic year of graduate level education, bachelor’s degree with Superior Academic Achievement, or 5 academic years of pre-professional study, or 1 year specialized experience equivalent to at least GS-5. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:

Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-5, or equivalent. This experience must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the position. The PALACE Acquire Program offers a permanent position upon completion of a formal training plan. A 3-year program with yearly salary increases. Requires transcripts to support educational claims. Education must be accredited by a recognized accrediting institution. Additional information
