A Typical Day As you inspire people to make confident, informed decisions about their lives, careers, and money, you’ll build client relationships that strengthen year after year. As a Team Leader, you’ll provide leadership to a customer-centric team of associates and accelerate seasonal tax business by managing a single H&R Block tax office. You’ll serve as the front-line manager, guiding tax office associates to deliver an outstanding client experience and achieve office growth objectives. We’ll help you develop the knowledge and skills you’ll need to excel as a trusted resource on tax topics and products for associates.
Responsibilities
Lead and develop a customer-centric tax office team to deliver high-quality client service and growth.
Partner with the District General Manager to create and implement office-level growth plans, develop local partnerships, and manage office community involvement.
Assist in recruiting and interviewing candidates for tax office positions.
Serve as the point of contact for onsite escalated client service concerns and ensure proper scheduling and resolution of conflicts.
Oversee daily activities to complete work on time with quality standards, priorities, and goals.
Coach and train associates to uphold Service Standards and recognize outstanding contributions.
Lead daily team meetings and communicate essential information to the tax office team.
Create associate work schedules and ensure accurate timekeeping and overtime management.
Prepare tax returns when required and ensure accuracy and compliance.
Conduct timely performance reviews and partner with the Associate Relations Center to address performance concerns.
Qualifications
Multi-unit people management experience in retail, restaurant, banking, or related industry.
2+ years as a Tax Professional (or equivalent).
Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment or Income Tax Course (if preparing tax returns).
Annual continuing education and ability to meet IRS and applicable state requirements.
Computer proficiency with MS Office.
Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Customer-centric mindset; passionate, determined, and resilient.
Ability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs.
High school diploma or equivalent or higher.

Pay Range The pay range for this position is listed below. Local minimum wage laws apply. Individual pay decisions depend on factors including experience, education, skill, performance, and location. Eligible associates may participate in incentive plans and benefit programs.
Pay Range: $15.00 – $65.00 per hour.
