Operations Manager Job Summary
Oversees 24/7 operations of plant production. Ensures all required quality and regulatory standards are met. Assists in developing processes for maximizing safety, quality, productivity and stewardship. Assists in developing major goals to support broad functional objectives. Works in and promotes an environment guided by these principles: Critical strategic objectives linked to breakthrough and/or disruptive market opportunities Dedicated entrepreneurial-style organization model Strong sense of urgency; focus on "Just in Time" Empowered teams with a high level of autonomy within this framework Main Position Responsibilities
Foster a team environment with strong communication, collaboration, and willingness to challenge the status quo Provide leadership for employee relations through effective communications, coaching, training, and development to achieve company goals Foster an open, high-trust, learning environment Drive overall plant operations including finance, manufacturing, manufacturing engineering, materials, quality assurance/control, human resources, and information systems Assist in developing a culture of high trust, clear metrics, leading indicators, ownership, and accountability Assist with aligning objectives within each function to achieve business strategic goals including safety, quality, reliability, productivity, and people development Oversee 24/7 daily operations to ensure facility performance aligns with business objectives in safety, quality, productivity, and people development Coordinate plant activities with General Manager and departmental managers to meet manufacturing objectives and foster accountability Understand and ensure all regulatory compliance standards are met Ensure technical objectives are met and resolve roadblocks or issues quickly Lead between 20-30 employees (Salary), strategic partners, and suppliers Employee Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Manufacturing equivalent Manufacturing experience of 7+ years with 5 years in operations leadership Experience in change management, process improvement and optimization Ability to lead in a way that builds trust with a passion to grow and develop self and others Ability to effectively communicate at all levels – from shop floor to executive leadership Willing to be accessible 24/7 and on holidays to support facility as needed Leadership attributes: high drive, willingness to challenge the status quo, accountability, resilience, and a roll-up-the-sleeves attitude Strong ability to build trust and a strong team environment Seniority level
