Position Purpose: Responsible for providing hands-on leadership on the warehouse floor during 1st shift operations , including training, monitoring, and evaluating assigned personnel while leading receiving, reclamation, inventory, and warehousing of product in alignment with company culture, service, and cost objectives. Essential Functions Ensure all employees are trained and developed to meet safety and productivity standards Communicate, coordinate, and support all policies and procedures within the warehouse and company Manage team of hourly direct reports in a fast-paced distribution environment Determine staffing levels for production Ensure target levels of efficiency in assigned business unit by meeting or exceeding productivity standards and cost control management Production data entry; Communication of results vs. standards via production reports Proactively review practices for accuracy, quality, and process flow along with timeliness Lead continuous improvement efforts while applying lean thinking and tools to eliminate waste and maintain a clean, professional, and safe work environment Responsible for the development of team leaders to ensure personal growth and career development Provide feedback to all team members via coaching, performance reviews, and progressive discipline Any additional task assigned by manager; duties, responsibilities, and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice Adhere to all company safety policies and guidelines Adhere to and promote Team Modern’s values of Optimistic Energy, Fairness, Teamwork, Customer Focus and Gratitude Ideal Candidate Profile: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to excel at the essential functions assigned. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and ability required. Required Experience / Skills : Previous successful leadership experience (1-3 years) Strong organizational, analytical, and planning skills Strong verbal and written communication skills Strong understanding of safety compliance (OSHA,FDA) and regulatory requirements Proficient understanding of production environment: workflow, goals, etc. Proficiency in KPI management and continuous improvement. Ability and willingness to be available for all shifts when needed, providing a connection/liaison to all supervision and teams
Preferred : Working knowledge of distribution or warehouse processes or systems Experience with Microsoft Office suite of products Experience utilizing Artificial Intelligence Programs for standardization and documentation Experience in leading kaizen events, process mapping, and root-cause analysis to remove non-value-added-activities. Additional Information Schedule: Monday-Friday; start time: 8:00am*; Expected hours per week: 45 +/-. Minimal weekend work is expected. (*Production Supervisors and other leadership rotate Friday evening coverage and closing responsibilities as prescribed by the DC Manager) Physical Demands :The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
Working Conditions : The physical environment requires the employee to work in a warehouse facility with concrete floors. Ambient temperatures in typical workspace may be ~70˚F, 34˚F in the Cooler, 0˚F in the Freezer, and -10˚F in the Ice Cream Freezer. May be requested to work overtime / Saturdays as needed.
