Health Program Assistant 2 (40 Hour)
Hybrid, full‑time, 40 hours per week.

Full‑time | Hybrid | 40 hours per week
Monday – Friday | 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
In Your Role as a Health Program Assistant 2
Assist in the preparation of sections of state health plans or special federal or state program plans.
Gather fiscal, programmatic, census, and other required data from complex calculations and analyses.
Review program grant requests and monitor fiscal and programmatic performance of grants using agency regulations and guidelines.
Monitor programs via site visits when necessary.
Assist with the preparation of program objectives and evaluation of program results.
Prepare information for public distribution.

About the Department of Social Services The State of Connecticut, Department of Social Services (DSS) delivers and funds a wide range of programs and services as Connecticut’s multi‑faceted health and human services agency. DSS serves about 1 million residents across 169 Connecticut cities and towns.
Minimum Qualifications
Six (6) years of professional experience in a health organization.
One (1) year of that experience in health care program administration, a health systems agency, or another health care organization in at least one of these areas:
Grant writing or monitoring.
Formal program planning, development, management, or evaluation.
Program consultation.
College training may substitute for experience (15 semester hours for half‑year up to 4 years for a bachelor’s degree; a master’s degree may add one year). One year as a Health Program Assistant 1 may substitute for the required experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in federal grant management, including familiarity with GrantSolutions and reporting requirements.
Experience administering contracts with health care or community‑based organizations, demonstrated through monitoring contract performance and vendor compliance.
Experience developing detailed project work plans with milestones, deliverables, and performance measures.
Experience preparing program and financial reports for federal agencies.
Experience establishing collaborative relationships across state, health care, and community partners.
Special Requirements
May require travel.
