Diesel Technician Reefer Mechanic
Immediately hiring a Permanent Full-Time Refrigeration Diesel Technician to support our Truck Fleet at Ryder in Fort Pierce, Florida.

Compensation & Bonuses
Hourly Pay: $35.50 per hour
Certification Bonus: $100 for each new ASE Certification up to $700
Quarterly Bonus: up to $500 every quarter (four times per year)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, Weekends OFF
Hours: First Shift 10:00 am – 6:30 pm

Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Vocational or Technical post‑secondary certification preferred
Basic tools required
Mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including routine maintenance, diagnostics & repairs, advanced repairs, and major engine work
Four (4) years or more relevant work experience preferred
Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A preferred
All other required certifications as per location
Additional Requirements
Ability to perform all T3 tasks
Advanced analytical & repair skills in vehicle maintenance
Effective interpersonal communication
Basic computer skills (PC, Windows)
Able to lift up to 50 pounds
Available for shift work, weekends, and on‑call duty
Prefer ASE Certification in PM, Brakes, A/C, Electrical, Electronics or ASE Master Mechanic
Proficient in shop computers & diagnostic equipment
Minimum tool requirement
Road test vehicles as necessary
Ability to coach/mentor others
Must obtain CDL within 6 months after hire
Pass Ryder Drug Test, DOT physical, Ryder road test, and Ryder Background & Motor Vehicle check (including drug/alcohol verification for last 3 years)
Responsibilities
Complete SBTIII training within 180 days
Finish all OEM online diagnostic scan tool courses within 365 days
Attend instructor‑led OEM courses as required
Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties:
Standard and preventive maintenance
Complex repairs with minimal support
Use internal and external maintenance documents
Diagnose and repair complex mechanical and electronic problems with diagnostic software
Remote triage with RCRC and customers for roadside breakdowns
Facility maintenance duties
Interact with customers/drivers to determine complaint nature
Instruct and advise other technicians
Coach/mentor other technicians
Advise shop management on shop repairs
Utilize shop management system and electronic documentation
Comply with federal, provincial, and corporate safety, DOT, MOT guidelines
Other support duties as required (e.g., Service Island support)
