Overview
Florida Sports and Family Health Center is looking for a full-time Referral Coordinator. The Referral Coordinator is responsible for managing all aspects of the patient referral process to ensure timely and accurate coordination of care between patients, primary care providers, and specialists. This role supports the clinical team by ensuring patients receive the appropriate specialist services and follow-up care while maintaining accurate documentation and communication within the electronic health record (EHR). Base pay range
$16.00/hr - $17.00/hr Requirements
High school degree or equivalent Bilingual preferred (Spanish a plus) Verifiable employment references EHR experience preferred Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance protocols (e.g., HIPAA) Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment Excellent customer service skills and problem-solving abilities Minimum of 1 year of experience in medical office operations or insurance verification Strong organizational, multitasking, and communication skills Key Responsibilities
Process all incoming and outgoing referrals in a timely and efficient manner. Obtain prior authorizations and verify insurance coverage as needed. Communicate with patients regarding referral status and required documentation. Collaborate with providers and medical assistants to ensure appropriate referrals are initiated based on clinical needs. Track and follow up on pending referrals to ensure completion and receipt of specialist reports. Document all referral activity, communication, and outcomes accurately in the EHR. Maintain knowledge of insurance requirements, network specialists, and referral policies. Assist patients with questions or concerns related to their referrals. Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and company policies. Support other administrative or clinical tasks as assigned by management. Benefits
