Job Responsibilities

Serve as Assistant Civil Engineer in the Materials Engineering Unit, QA, within the Bureau of Engineering Review & Support, Division of Bridges.

Ensure construction materials meet their specification requirements.

Review shop drawings and material test reports to accept or reject materials.

Perform IAST (Independent Assurance Sampling and Testing) to evaluate the performance of sampling and testing by field inspectors and testing equipment related to concrete, Superpave (HMA), and soils.

Perform other related duties as needed.

Preferred Skills

Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.

Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office.

A baccalaureate degree in civil engineering from an accredited college and one year of full-time satisfactory experience in civil engineering work; or

A baccalaureate degree and a Master's degree in civil engineering from an accredited college.
