Position Summary
Join the Walmart International legal team as Senior Counsel, Global Sourcing and Procurement. This is a generalist position with an emphasis on commercial contract work, and reports to the Lead Counsel, Global Sourcing and Procurement. This role requires a dynamic and business-oriented attorney with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. The Procurement business negotiates with suppliers and vendors across the globe to bring the right support and inputs to Walmart’s broad operations. The successful candidate will provide practical and frontline legal advice to this business on a wide range of matters including commercial contracts, strategic initiatives, and supplier/vendor relationships.
What you’ll do
Review, draft, and negotiate a wide range of complex commercial agreements, including MSAs, SOWs, NDAs, supply agreements, software licenses, SaaS agreements, consulting agreements, and service-level agreements.
Provide frontline legal support and strategic counsel to the business on strategic initiatives, event, supplier relationships, contract structure, and risk mitigation.
Partner with internal stakeholders such as intellectual property, trade, tax, antitrust, privacy to identify, assess, and mitigate legal and business risks in supplier engagements.
Develop and maintain standard contract templates, playbooks, and guidelines to streamline the contracting process and promote consistency.
Monitor and advise on changes in laws, regulations and industry trends relevant to the business’ activities and advise on best practices.
Provide training and guidance to the Procurement team and internal stakeholders on contract terms and other legal issues.
Review and advise on external corporate communications related to business activities and events.
Support the Lead Counsel and other attorneys on the Walmart International legal team with strategic initiatives.
What you’ll bring

Strong oral and written communication skills and excellent judgment.
The ability to distill complex issues into clear summaries and simple guidance.
Success navigating highly matrixed organizations to drive action and resolve issues.
Experience providing counsel to management level business executives.
A self-starter attitude with strong prioritization skills with experience in managing risk under tight deadlines.
Familiarity with U.S. and international law relevant to procurement, sourcing, trade, and retail.
Experience using AI and technology to improve performance and efficiency.
A service-oriented approach that builds strong teams and trusting relationships.
