Overview Under general direction, this position is responsible for preparing and maintaining all logging files, reviewing all forms, applications, and other paperwork necessary to ensure the programs’ success. The role supports the forest-products industry by preparing certifications and/or licenses for both individual loggers and businesses, responds to FOIA requests, maintains records for Certified Logger certifications, organizes and processes training completion, reviews, approves or denies program applications, maintains a program-specific database, provides photo identification cards, verifies compliance with other regulatory agencies, and submits weekly, monthly, and annual reports.
Responsibilities
Prepare and maintain all logging files.
Review all forms, applications, and other necessary paperwork.
Prepare certifications and/or licenses for individual loggers and businesses.
Receive, review, and comply with FOIA requests.
Maintain records for Certified Logger certifications.
Organize, publicize, and process the completion of all training.
Review and complete program applications and approve or deny as appropriate.
Maintain a program-specific database.
Create and provide photo identification cards for approved loggers.
Develop and submit weekly, monthly, and annual reports as required.
Maintain records for all Timber License applications.
Verify compliance with other regulatory agencies such as the Secretary of State, Department of Revenue, Workforce WV, and the Insurance Commission.
Qualities/Qualifications
High school diploma or the equivalent.
Two (2) years of full‑time or equivalent part‑time paid clerical experience.
Successful completion of college coursework from a regionally accredited college or university may be substituted for the required experience at the rate of one (1) year of experience for every thirty (30) credit hours of education.
