Base pay range $35,600.00/yr - $47,500.00/yr
The Payroll Specialist is responsible for all aspects of high-volume payroll processing for multi-state entities, including both salaried and hourly employees using ADP Vantage. Duties include verifying hours, calculating wages, managing deductions and garnishments, processing payment runs, uploading bonuses, issuing manual checks, and maintaining payroll records. The role also involves employee support, handling inquiries related to payroll, garnishments, 401(k), W-2s, and assisting with audits and year-end processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Process payroll for multi-state, multi-frequency environments ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness.
Manage wage garnishments, including processing and submitting payments.
Review payroll procedures for compliance with state and federal laws.
Maintain payroll records per company policies and regulations.
Respond to agency inquiries (e.g., DSS forms, child support).
Perform data retrieval, analysis, and reporting for payroll records.
Support general ledger reconciliations and adjustments.
Resolve payroll-related issues and enforce policies.
Respond to employee inquiries via phone and email.
Minimum 3 years of payroll experience required.
Proficiency in ADP (preferably Vantage).
Strong knowledge of wage, hour, and tax laws.
Advanced Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
Excellent oral and written communication.
Detail-oriented and analytical.
Strong time management skills; ability to meet deadlines.
Willingness to work overtime.
Ability to sit for prolonged periods and perform repetitive wrist motions.
