Position Summary The Center for Development and Disability (CDD), established in 1990, is New Mexico's University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities Education, Research and Service. These centers, authorized by the Developmental Disabilities Assistance and Bill of Rights Act, build the capacities of states and communities to respond to the needs of individuals with developmental disabilities and their families.

The CDD Nurse Educator serves as the nurse supervisor for the national evidence-based home visiting program, Nurse-Family Partnership (NFP). This position provides clinical leadership and operational direct support for a team of eight Nurse Home Visitors, ensuring implementation of the NFP model with fidelity and in compliance with state, federal, and National Service Office (NSO) regulations.

The RN will need a valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle for local travel to meetings and home visits.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct weekly one-on-one clinical supervision sessions with Nurse Home Visitors.

Lead structured case conferences.

Perform joint home visits.

Manage client caseload assignments.

Coordinate outreach efforts across clinics, hospitals, and community partners to generate referrals.

Maintain a small caseload and provide direct services as needed.

Meet regularly with the NFP National Service Office consultant to support model fidelity.

Build and sustain community partnerships.

Ensure compliance with NFP model elements and contract requirements.

Support staff recruitment, onboarding, and training.

Promote a strengths-based, client-centered team culture.

Perform additional responsibilities as required to ensure program success.

Maintain valid driver's license and reliable vehicle for local travel.

Conditions of Employment

UNM will provide Hepatitis vaccination; candidate may decline vaccination through a declination form or provide a record of vaccination from a previous employer.

Must pass a pre-employment criminal background check.

May be subject to credentialing process; must maintain credentialed status if applicable.

Must maintain certification status.

Employees who provide services or work in patient care or clinical areas are required to be in compliance with the University's influenza vaccination requirement.

Minimum Qualifications

Associate's degree in Nursing; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Certification/Licensure: State of New Mexico Licensed Registered Nurse or licensure pending as documented by temporary licensure or current RN licensure from a state participating in the multi-state privilege to practice compact with New Mexico.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year-for-year basis.

Preferred Qualifications

Comprehensive knowledge of the NFP model and experience delivering NFP HV services.

Demonstrated program leadership and presentation skills.

Fluency in English and Spanish.

Knowledge of community outreach practices.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Additional Requirements

Passing a background check with fingerprinting is a requirement for this position.
