The Marketing Assistant supports the day-to-day marketing initiatives of the Network Office (NO) and financial advisors across Louisiana and Mississippi. This role partners closely with Marketing leadership and Northwestern Mutual corporate offices to develop and execute firm-wide marketing and communication efforts. The position drives advisor productivity, revenue, and market presence through strategic marketing, digital content management, and brand-building initiatives. Responsibilities For the Network Office
Execute the Network Office Marketing Plan and operate within established budget guidelines.
Plan, promote, and evaluate marketing, community, and philanthropy events.
Lead creation and distribution of firm-wide newsletters, announcements, and internal communications.
Develop and manage digital content, including the field website, social media calendar, and Sprinklr postings.
Design marketing collateral such as event flyers, invitations, and branded templates.
Support public relations, advertising, and philanthropic initiatives to strengthen brand presence.
Partner with leadership and the Synergy & Culture Committee to coordinate staff events and recognition programs.
Responsibility For Select Financial Advisors
Support advisor marketing plans, client engagement, and business development efforts.
Manage advisor marketing budgets and assist in regular marketing consultations.
Create and manage advisor-specific digital and social media content aligned with Northwestern Mutual brand standards.
Develop newsletters and e-communications to enhance client relationships and retention.
Coordinate advisor-hosted events, gifting programs, and community outreach initiatives.
Track ROI and maintain reporting systems for marketing performance and expenses.
Position Qualifications
0–2 years of marketing and event experience.
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or a related field preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and social media platforms (LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram).
Experience with graphic design tools, preferably Canva.
Strong written, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work independently with attention to detail.
Professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment in all communications.
Experience in financial services a plus.
Occasional evening or weekend work as required by event schedule.
