JOB SUMMARY Serve as Garrison Arena representative and point of contact during contracted/scheduled events, Thursday through Monday. Follows protocol to ensure facilities are prepared and maintained during events. Other duties as assigned.
JOB DUTIES
40% - Essential - Event Preparation: Follow defined protocols for varied events to establish lighting, sound, seating, and show ring preparations and maintenance in multiple venues at the Arena complex.
30% - Essential - Grounds maintenance: Operate farm equipment to prepare show rings for multiple disciplines. Move and set up equipment using skid steer loader. Operate water truck for non-potable water used for irrigation of show rings. Stall turnover.
15% - Essential - Facility maintenance: Ensure facilities are clean before and during daily events. This includes janitorial duties in assembly areas, and waste management and trash in animal housing areas.
10% - Essential - Safety/security: Identify public safety risks and perform corrective maintenance. Inspect all building and grounds daily for repair and maintenance requirements.
5% - Essential - Public service: Provide area/local information for exhibitors for area attractions, University information, and facility information.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: High School or Equivalent with custodial or groundskeeping experience directly related to the area of employment.
Licenses: Drivers License Class D normal RESPONSIBILITIES JOB KNOWLEDGE Fundamental working knowledge of concepts, practices and procedures and ability to apply them in varied situations.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Supervises Student Workers only.
BUDGETARY RESPONSIBILITIES No budget responsibilities; no fiscal responsibility for the department's budget.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Stand for prolonged period.
Sit (stationary position) for prolonged period.
Walk or move about.
Use hands or feet to operate or handle machinery, equipment, etc.
Ascend or descend (i.e., stairs, ladder).
Position self to accomplish task (i.e., stoop, kneel, crawl).
Communicate, converse, give direction, express oneself.
Recognize or inspect visually.
Move, transport, raise or lower.
Extend hands or arms in any direction.
Perceive, observe, clarity of vision.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Exposure to heat or cold.
Exposure to dust/fumes.
Wet or humid.
Noise.
Vibration.
Mechanical hazards.
Chemical hazards.
Exposure to bio-hazards (i.e., blood, bodily fluids).
WORK SCHEDULE Standard Hours: 37.5.
COMPENSATION INFORMATION Anticipated Salary Range: $31,800 - $36,000.
Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson's compensation guidelines.
ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL LEVEL Normal Operations. Required to follow emergency facility closure directives: not normally expected to work on-site during emergency situations.
