Job Title Process Engineer II

Location Hemlock, MI (Solar Plant), 100% onsite.

Duration 3+ months

Education BS in mechanical, electrical, chemical, or industrial engineering strongly preferred.

Minimum Experience 2+ years required, 5+ years preferred.

Scope of Position

A mechanical, electrical, chemical, or industrial engineer responsible for providing hands‑on support identifying and implementing solutions to equipment issues during start‑up and commissioning in the Solar wafer manufacturing plant.

Team member collaborating with a diverse team (mechanical, electrical, controls, facilities, IT, operations, etc.) in a solar wafer manufacturing setting.

Main focus is equipment installation and start‑up of multiple lines in rapid succession.

May be required to work off shifts.

Requirements

Effective technical leadership, organization, and planning skills, with ability to handle changing priorities.

Creative/innovative problem solving.

Experience in successfully completing projects in a manufacturing environment.

Excellent analytical skills – decision‑making based on data.

Self‑starter, able to work in team environment and motivate others.

Strong data analysis, interpretation, visualization, and problem‑solving skills.

Excellent communication, interpersonal and influencing skills.

Ability to collaborate and work with diverse teams (skills, gender, culture, race, etc.).

Capable of multitasking.

Demonstrated technical expertise in equipment installation, debugging, start‑up, and troubleshooting.

Key Responsibilities

Assist and support team in the execution of equipment start‑up, including setting up equipment, collecting data, and making modifications based on needs.

Provide feedback and suggestions to improve equipment and product quality.

Support problem‑solving in manufacturing, including root‑cause identification and resolution.

Apply knowledge of engineering principles and methods to resolve challenges.

Demonstrate use of engineering tools and methodologies to understand and address root causes of production issues.

Support development of standard work documentation, including SOPs, SOS, Job Aids, and training documentation.

Ensure safe work practices.

Mandarin speaking is a plus.

Work Schedule B Shift 4:00 PM – 12:00 AM, typical 40 hours per week. May require working weekends/holidays or longer days to support project schedule.
