Financial Services - Customer Tax Operations and Reporting - Tax Services Analyst-EDGE Join EY as a Tax Services Analyst-EDGE in the Financial Services organization, focusing on customer tax operations and reporting.

Your Key Responsibilities

Support the Customer Tax Operations practice with the preparation and delivery of tax information reporting (1099/1042-S/8804), FATCA/CRS reporting, tax withholding certificate validation (Forms W-8/9) and related withholding and reporting reconciliations.

Assist engagement teams with reconciliation of customer demographic data, transaction data and tax information returns to achieve complete, accurate and timely filing of those returns.

Communicate with client tax liaisons, tax compliance teams and other stakeholders to gather required information and obtain instruction or authorization necessary for timely, accurate production of tax information reporting.

Support billing and collections for tax compliance and related services.

Manage internal and external communications, including requesting and documenting receipt of client authorizations and instructions.

Analyze bridged customer data and transaction information to identify potential errors and omissions and apply knowledge of basic tax concepts to make decisions and take action to modify tax reporting coding.

Balance time between multiple projects and responsibilities, working with multiple engagement teams to serve multiple clients.

Routinely communicate with immediate supervisor and colleagues to obtain guidance and instruction pertaining to performance of work.

Skills And Attributes For Success

Timely, efficient and accurate support of the production of information reporting in a volume-driven environment within deadline-driven time frames established by governmental agencies and as dictated by the performance standards set forth by the practice’s clients.

Understanding of tax withholding certificates (Forms W-8/W-9) and FATCA/CRS Self Certification forms as well as information returns.

Understanding of vendor and client systems that support a tax operations function.

Managing internal and external communications, including requesting and documenting receipt of client authorizations and instructions.

Communicating with client tax liaisons, tax compliance teams and other stakeholders to gather required information.

Support billing and collections for tax compliance and related services.

Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

To Qualify for the Role

Bachelor degree (Accounting, Business, Finance or equivalent degree preferred).

1–2 years of experience.

Proficient in basic computer software applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Working knowledge of 1099/1042-S reporting systems.

Working knowledge of tax compliance and information reporting rules.

Ability to work effectively both independently and with a team, and assist with a variety of projects of varying degrees of complexity.

Ability to follow a standardized process and ask questions when needed.

Excellent organizational and verbal/written communication skills.

Commit to periodic travel (5%–10%).

Ideally, You’ll Also Have

Experience in a professional services environment.

A proven record in information reporting and withholding tax laws and concepts required to prepare US federal and state information and withholding tax returns.

Experience with tax withholding validation and complete tax withholding certificates.

Experience with FATCA/CRS reporting templates.

Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

The ability to adapt your work style to work with both internal and client team members.

A proficiency in trust tax software.
