Job Summary This role will materially support the firm’s goal of delivering a menu of high-quality private markets investment opportunities to private wealth clients, with a particular focus on operationalizing co‑invest and direct offerings. The Director collaborates with PCG and Capital Markets origination, investment research, operational due diligence, sales, and operations teams to accomplish objectives. Working under general direction from platform leadership, and with a high level of autonomy, the Director uses extensive knowledge and skills to drive referral agreement negotiations and operationalize private market investment opportunities, reviewing and coordinating service and distribution agreements for funds offerings available through the alternative investment platform. The role also leads and contributes to major projects, programs or processes involving cross‑functional teams that will have significant business impact, coordinating with legal, compliance, supervision, operations, and AML representatives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Negotiate distribution and referral agreements with the RJ Legal, origination, investment research, and operational due diligence teams.
Build collaborative partnerships with teams involved in sourcing and offering non‑traditional investment offerings.
Support a structured approach to launches of new offerings together with other sourcing and underwriting teams.
Manage and coordinate the operational launch of co‑invest and direct offerings, ensuring compliance and clear expectations with sponsors/issuers.
Communicate regularly in a clear, concise, and relevant manner to senior managers and other stakeholders.
Review progress of assignments with platform leadership.
Coordinate with RJ legal and external attorneys to prepare comments and resolve issues on distribution, service, and referral agreements.
Partner with other functional areas to accomplish objectives.
Research, compile information, and assist with regulatory responses.
Research and coordinate Anti‑Money Laundering issues and projects as needed.
Assist with FINRA regulatory filings and documenting exemptions.
Maintain a library of documents, contracts, clauses, templates, and historical documents, revising them as necessary.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Financial markets and products, including private markets products.
Legal agreement drafting and negotiation.
Relevant FINRA/SEC rules and regulations.
Principles of banking and finance and securities industry operations.
Strong oral and written communication capability.
Problem‑solving skills to achieve desired outcomes in negotiations.
Capability to think independently and convey a positive impression of Raymond James.
Proficiency with standard office equipment and required software applications.
Education and Experience
Ideally an M.B.A. or Master’s Degree with at least seven (7) years of experience in financial services, legal, or consulting.
Legal background not required but a plus; familiarity with legal documents and negotiation valued.
Any equivalent combination of education, experience, and/or training approved by Human Resources.
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Finance.
Manager‑level experience: 6 to 10 years.
Certifications
Securities Industry Essentials Exam (SIE) – Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA).
